Javier is a native New Yorker whose adventures have taken him from the projects of East Harlem, to the ivory towers.

Javier completed his Bachelors and Masters degrees as a student at the City College of New York, and led a career on Madison Avenue as an advertising account executive for some of the world’s largest brands.

After embarking on these adventures, Javier returned to the ivory towers, teaching courses at a handful of college’s, before landing the role of Assistant Professor in the Advertising & Public Relations program at the City College of New York where he first studied.

About Javier’s Work

Javier is an Assistant Professor in their Advertising and Public Relations (Ad/PR) program, one of two tracks in the Bachelor of Arts in Communications offered at the City College of New York.

Javier has designed curriculum for, and taught courses on more than half a dozen topics.

These topics include, but are not limited to, Introductory advertising courses, Internet Marketing, Brand Strategy, Sports Marketing, and semester-long courses centered around real client projects.

Research & Publications

Javier’s research and publications focus on exploring the value of human creativity, with a recent interest in the trends of heightened investments in artificial intelligence, and the ongoing disinvestment in areas such as professional and personal development, organized labor, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
